luckyburden

luckyburden is a collection of songs about work,  love, and mixed blessings in Keno City, the centre of Yukon silver mining from 1914 to 1989. People immigrated from all over the world to make their lives in the remote northern mining town perched high in the Gustavus Range, 400 km north of Whitehorse.

Produced and recorded at Old Crow Recording with Bob Hamilton. Justin Haynes plays guitar, Barry Mirochnick and Martin Walton form the band. (Released 2004, Caribou Records.)

“luckyburden is one of the best folk concept albums since Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.”
